Restrictive Scheduling

Working Washington, a coalition of labor organizations, held a press conference in February to announce its efforts to pass legislation in Seattle that would regulate employee scheduling and hiring. While no specific ordinance language has been released, it’s assumed the proposed ordinance would model legislation enacted in San Francisco, with modifications specific to Seattle. As employers in the hospitality industry, we are concerned about what a mandated restrictive scheduling policy could mean to our employees and our businesses. We want to ensure restrictive scheduling policies won’t defy a crucial cornerstone of restaurant employment – flexibility. Your local GA team will monitor this issue closely and keep you updated.
