Shaping Our Future
The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) connects all interested members throughout the state, allowing them to voice their concerns and opinions on current important issues, while providing valuable input on the direction of our government affairs efforts.
The government affairs department is directed by the GAC. Every major decision regarding legislation and official association positions, as well as every PAC dollars and donations, is approved by the Government Affairs Committee.
The GAC is co-chaired by three Washington Hospitality Association members: the vice president of the Association and two other members appointed by the outgoing GAC chair. All efforts are made to ensure the chairs represent different segments of the industry.
During the legislative session, GAC meetings take place weekly via teleconference, so members can get involved from the convenience of their own businesses. If you would like to participate on the calls, please contact Dale Porter.
Any dues-paying member of the Washington Hospitality Association is eligible to vote as long as they have attended two of the previous four GAC meetings.
