This is an educational webinar to inform employers and employees about RCW 49.60.515, enacted by the Washington state legislature in 2019 to prevent sexual assault and sexual harassment against certain isolated workers in the hospitality, janitorial, and security industries. This webinar will help employers and workers determine if this law impacts them, go over all the requirements of employers with isolated workers, and provide attendees with additional informational resources.
The webinar will be a presentation by the Isolated Worker Specialist from L&I’s Employment Standards program, which includes the opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) invites you to attend a webinar about the overtime rules that took effect July 1, 2020, and the updated salary thresholds that took effect Jan. 1, 2022. These updates are to the exemptions for executive, administrative, and professional workers, as well as outside salespeople and computer professionals.
In this webinar, you will learn about the overtime rules, including the job duties tests for each exemption category and the newly updated minimum salary threshold an exempt employee must earn to qualify for exemption from the protections of the state Minimum Wage Act.
Each webinar will begin with a 45-minute presentation by outreach specialists from L&I’s Employment Standards program, followed by 30 minutes for questions and answers.

Job Posting Transparency – ESSB 5761
This is an educational webinar to inform employers about new job posting requirements effective Jan. 1, 2023. Employers with 15 or more employees must provide information on wage or salary ranges, benefits, and other compensation in their job postings, due to the passage of Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5761.
The webinar will be a 60-minute presentation by an Equal Pay specialist from L&I’s Employment Standards program, and includes the opportunity to ask questions during the presentation.
The webinar will cover:
- An overview of employee and job applicant protections under the law
- Employer requirements for job postings that take effect Jan. 1
- L&I’s enforcement and investigation process, including changes to the complaint form
- Employer resources
