Assistant U. S. Attorneys Annalisa Cravens and Molly Smith will present best practices for serving guests with disabilities and striving to avoid complaints and litigation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Annalisa and Molly represent our state’s two federal prosecutors’ offices: the U.S. Attorney’s Offices for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington.
Along with Department of Justice (DOJ) colleagues in D.C., the offices enforce our nation’s federal civil rights laws, including the ADA, in Washington.
Hotel guests who experience ADA violations may file complaints with the DOJ, which has the authority to launch investigations, secure voluntary compliance, assess penalties and file lawsuits as appropriate.
This presentation aims to help hotels understand their obligations under the ADA to ensure that guests with disabilities can travel with ease and dignity. The presentation will address required architectural features, website accessibility, reservation practices and service animals.
This presentation is a LIVE EVENT on Zoom and will not be recorded.
Join us at 10 a.m. on July 24.
