The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) invites you to attend their Employer Guide to Workers’ Rights webinar to learn about the workplace rules and regulations enforced by the Employment Standards program at L&I. The Employment Standards Outreach team will begin with a 45-minute presentation on topics such as:

  • Wage requirements
  • Tracking hours of work & recordkeeping requirements
  • Minimum wage, overtime and tips
  • Paid sick leave and other protected leave requirements
  • Employee protections from retaliation and discrimination
  • Agricultural employment
  • Youth employment
  • Workplace rights complaint process

A 15-minute question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

Upon registration, you will receive additional information on how to access the webinar.

This is an educational webinar to inform employers and employees about RCW 49.60.515, which was enacted by the Washington state legislature in 2019 to prevent sexual assault and sexual harassment against certain isolated workers in the hospitality, janitorial, and security industries.

This webinar will help employers and workers determine if this law impacts them, review all the requirements for employers with isolated workers, and provide attendees with additional informational resources.

The webinar will feature a presentation by the Isolated Worker Specialist from L&I’s Employment Standards program. After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

THIRD-PARTY WEBINAR: EAP Overtime Exemptions for White-Collar Employees

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) invites you to attend a webinar about the overtime rules that took effect July 1, 2020, and the updated salary thresholds that took effect Jan. 1, 2022. These updates are to the exemptions for executive, administrative, and professional workers, as well as outside salespeople and computer professionals.

In this webinar, you will learn about the overtime rules, including the job duties tests for each exemption category and the newly updated minimum salary threshold an exempt employee must earn to qualify for exemption from the protections of the state Minimum Wage Act.

Each webinar will begin with a 45-minute presentation by outreach specialists from L&I’s Employment Standards program, followed by 30 minutes for questions and answers.

This educational webinar informs employers about the Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, which prohibits gender pay discrimination and promotes fairness among workers by addressing business practices that contribute to income disparities between genders.

The Equal Pay Specialists from L&I’s Employment Standards program will present a 60-minute webinar, during which attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

  • They will cover:
  • An overview of the law
  • Employee and job applicant’s protections under the law
  • L&I’s enforcement and investigation process
  • Employer resources

Upon registration, you will receive additional information on how to access the webinar. At the beginning of the webinar, the presenters will also provide instructions on how to use Zoom.
