In just a couple of weeks, high school students from across the state will go back to school, including kids who participate in their school’s ProStart program.

ProStart is a hands-on, real-world, career-connected learning program, and students are mentored by industry leaders. The requirements include passing two exams and 400 hours of industry experience, and students receive a Certificate of Achievement.

This fall, consider volunteering to mentor your local team. The students benefit from your real-world experience, and you get a chance to see what they are capable of and maybe hire them down the road. If you don’t have time to mentor, you could volunteer to speak to the classes or offer tours of your restaurant.

If you are an allied member, there are opportunities to contribute to scholarships, donate product or a facility where they can practice and so much more.
