About the HALO
The goal of this initial version of the Handbook for Amazing Lodging Operations (HALO) is to inform current and prospective lodging operators about various laws and rules. The HALO is intended to get lodging operators started on the right path to understanding Washington state laws and regulations and assist them in avoiding costly citations from the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), Department of Health and other regulatory entities.
The HALO is an expanded successor to the Lodging Excellence Handbook, which was a partnership between L&I and the Washington Hospitality Association. The HALO incorporates not only information about L&I regulations, but much more besides.
