SUMMARY:State of the Lodging Industry: Navigating Change in 2026
DESCRIPTION:The lodging industry is undergoing a profound shift\, with rising costs\, evolving guest expectations\, and misaligned financial perspectives creating new challenges for operators and owners alike. \nIn this timely webinar\, Washington Hospitality Association President & CEO Anthony Anton breaks down the realities behind today’s lodging landscape—where strong surface-level metrics often mask deeper financial strain. This session will explore differing perspectives of those in the lodging industry\, why traditional performance metrics no longer tell the full story\, and how external factors—from global travel trends to major events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup—are shaping the future of demand. \nAttendees will also gain insight into how AI is already transforming hotel operations\, from guest communications to revenue management\, and what that means for workforce roles and service delivery. With a focus on actionable strategies\, this webinar will help lodging operators rethink how they measure success\, adapt to digital-first guest preferences\, and position their properties for long-term sustainability—all while reinforcing the vital role hotels play in their local communities. \nKey Takeaways: \n\nAlign Financial Reality Across Teams: Bridge the gap between GM metrics and owner-level financial health to make better strategic decisions.\nAdopt AI to Enhance Operations: From guest services to pricing\, AI tools are ready to improve efficiency\, personalization\, and profitability.\nRedesign for the Modern Guest: Embrace digital-first expectations and evolving preferences to deliver hospitality in the ways today’s travelers value most.\n\nNote: This webinar is open to members and non-members.
