House Bill 1368 provides $2.2 billion in relief in several areas, including $240 million in grants to small businesses through the Department of Commerce’s Working Washington grant program. The Senate voted to approve the bill yesterday and will be delivered to the governor shortly for his signature.

Eligible businesses may receive up to $75,000.

Of the $240 million, $150 million is available to maintain operations and $90 million to assist businesses reopen after a temporary, total closure because of the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order.

Businesses may be eligible if their annual gross receipts were less than $5 million in 2019.

When the state releases information about applying for these grants, we will be sure to let you know. The bill will be effective immediately upon the governor’s signature and the grant program will be available as soon as the Department of Commerce receives the funds.
