The annual Stars of Hospitality awards nominations are about to close. These awards, hosted by Sysco, are an opportunity to recognize the truly exceptional professionals and properties that exemplify the very best of Washington hospitality.

Big changes coming to FSA Kent location

Harbor Wholesale Foods announced Sept. 11 it has acquired the Food Services of America (FSA) Seattle business, including FSA’s facility in Kent. According to a release from the company, Harbor Wholesale Foods (headquartered in Lacey) will take on a portion of the customer base, including roughly 1,700 independent restaurant operators throughout 10 counties in Western Washington. Statewide minimum wage increases to $13.50 on Jan. 1, 2020
The statewide minimum wage will increase $1.50 on Jan. 1, 2020 to $13.50 per hour. This increase is the final phase-in of Initiative 1433 that was passed by the voters in 2016. Local minimum wages will increase in areas that have a higher minimum wage. Those new rates have not yet been announced.
