GSA increases per diem rate

The General Services Administration (GSA) announced the new per diem rates for government travel — an integral part of the hotel industry. This is a major win for the hospitality industry as our recovery continues.

Seattle mayor signs legislation capping third-party delivery commissions at 15%

This legislation caps the commissions third-party delivery companies can charge at 15%, though restaurants can opt out of the cap if they want to receive additional services such as marketing. The legislation takes effect on Sept. 2.

New protections in place for independent contractors

A new Independent Contractor Protection Ordinance goes into effect in Seattle on Sept. 1, which lays out requirements for pre-written notices and timely payments.
