This week the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued draft guidelines for the food industry to reduce sodium in meals and snacks. The goals, which are voluntary, provide restaurants, manufacturers and others in foodservice short-term and long-term targets to reduce salt levels, already a common goal in the industry.

Seattle Proposes New Rules for Short-Term Rentals

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray and Councilmember Tim Burgess this week announced a proposal to prevent long-term rental units from being converted to short-term rentals, while still providing residents the ability to earn additional income by renting out their homes. The measure focuses on commercial operators who use platforms, such as Airbnb and VRBO, to rent multiple properties year-round. Read more…
