Legislation was passed that requires owners of buildings more than 50.000 thousand square feet to reduce their energy usage to meet or exceed prescribed energy usage intensity targets, which can vary depending on the building’s usage type; Starting January 1st, Washington employers with 15 or more employees must include these three items in external and internal job postings: wage scale or salary range, a general description of all benefits, and a general description of other compensation that comes with the position. Two Minute Video: What you need to know 2/22/22

Coronavirus restrictions are starting to lift, and that is an important step as the hospitality industry continues to recover from the pandemic. When it comes to masks, Governor Inslee ended the outdoor mask mandate for large venues on February 18th, as for the indoor mask mandate. The governor said that restriction will be lifted on March 21st. As for vaccines, the statewide vaccine verification requirement for large events will end March 1st. King County will also end its vaccine verification requirement on March 1st, similar mandates in Jefferson and Clallam counties will be lifted on March 11th. While the mandates are going away, businesses will still be allowed to adopt a vaccine and masking requirements for their employees and guests.
