The WRA extends its best wishes to everyone involved in last night’s collapse of the Skagit River Bridge on I-5. Along with everyone else, the WRA is relieved that no lives were lost, nor serious injuries sustained in this terrifying incident. We do know, however, that many businesses in the Skagit Valley will experience changes in business over the coming weeks and months, as state and federal authorities work to mitigate the impact of the situation. Please check the Washington State Department of Transportation’s website, for information on available detour routes, and be sure to refer your customers to this information. It is important for the public to recognize that this vibrant and beautiful region of Northwest Washington remains open for business. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact the WRA with any questions or concerns you may have.
