Spokane County will create a relief fund for local hospitality businesses funded from federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act dollars. The county authorized $10.8 million in federal coronavirus relief money to fund a program targeted to local restaurants, hotels and event venues. Local lodging, restaurant and food services, arts, entertainment and recreation businesses with 249 employees or fewer will be eligible for up to $20,000 in grants to pay for safety measures, rent, utilities and other operating costs.

Washington Hospitality Association CEO Anthony Anton and Spokane Chapter Board Chair Derek Baziotis will discuss these grants at 9 a.m., Nov. 4.
