Today, proponents announced their intention to put a minimum wage increase initiative on the November ballot. According to their press statement the ballot measure will call for an increase to $13.50 phased-in over four years. The initiative also has a paid-sick leave element where employees accrue one hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked, up to a maximum of 7 paid sick days per year.

The 2015 regular session officially ended last week and the Special Session started April 29. A special session can last up to 30 days, however it is not required that the the Legislature use all 30 days to complete their work. They can adjourn any time they agree on a budget.
Today is Day 96 of 2015’s 105 day regular session. We are very near the end. However, most observers believe that there will be a special session to cover budget
