South Seattle Community College autumn wine release

The WRA’s longtime partner South Seattle Community College features student-produced award-winning wines.

Find the perfect wine to complement to your holiday meals at the Northwest Wine Academy’s Fall release event.  Enjoy wine tasting and light hors d’oeuvres, while perusing a wide selection of wine-themed gift baskets.

The Northwest Wine Academy will be releasing two red wines: 2008 Well Red  Bourdeaux -style Blend, Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon, and a 2009 Field Blend Rhone-style Red, Grenache Mouverde and Counoise. These newly released wines are available for purchase. Also available for purchase will be a 2009 Roussanne, a 2009 Late Harvest Viognier and a 2009 Barrel fermented Chardonnay and a 2009 No Oak Chardonnay.

South Seattle Community College’s Northwest Wine Academy is a first-of-its-kind program in Western Washington and offers three certificate programs – Wine Making, Wine Marketing & Sales, and Food & Wine Pairing. The Academy complements the college’s highly regarded and award-winning Culinary Arts program and the new bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management program.

The event is free and open to the public Monday, November 15, 4-7 p.m. The Northwest Wine Academy is located on the South Seattle Community College campus across from Bernie’s Bakery.  Parking is available in the North entry parking lot.
