Primary Election 2017: Tacoma Races

The Tacoma restaurants of the Washington Hospitality Association endorsed Victoria Woodards for mayor, Robert Thoms for city council position 2, Kevin Grossman for city council position 4, Brian Arnold for city council position 5 and Meredith Neal for city council position 6. Each of these candidates made it through the Aug. 1 Primary Election in second place.

Primary Election Results (As of Aug. 2, 2017):
Mayor – Jim Merritt: 6,584 votes (41.48%); Victoria Woodards: 5,664 votes (35.69%)
Council Position 4 – Catherine Ushka: 1,028 votes (46.52%); Kevin Grossman: 762 votes (34.48%)
Council Position 5 – Chris Beale: 762 votes (34.97%); Brian Arnold: 680 votes (31.21%)
Council Position 6 – Lillian Hunter: 6,178 votes, (40.14%); Meredith Neal: 3,915 votes (25.43%)

Woodards and the other endorsed contenders were identified as candidates who will best represent the hospitality industry.
