Alcohol server training going online

In  2010 legislation changed that allowed the state’s mandatory alcohol server training to be offered online.

Prior to this legislative change training was limited to instructor led classes. Many viewed the limited access to training archaic and worked with the Legislature to make changes.

The Washington Restaurant Association and its members are pleased with the change that will allow easier access to training

“Many of our smaller communities throughout Washington have a difficult time gathering enough students in their small towns to constitute an instructor coming to their area,” said Anthony Anton, WRA president and CEO. “Now instead of having to travel great lengths to get training servers and managers can get training online.”

Beginning Dec. 1, 2010, online training will be allowable for approved programs in Washington. The WRA Education Foundation is submitting an online program to the LCB.
