New proposal emerges in liquor control debate

Not surprisingly, last week’s gloomy revenue forecast for the upcoming biennium has created a flurry of ideas of how the state could fill its budget gap. Although voters’ passage of I-1053, the two-thirds majority requirement for new or increased taxes, has essentially taken taxes out of the equation, interest groups are now surfacing all sorts of novel ideas to balance the budget.
